André Fougères received his Ph.D. in physics (experimental quantum optics) from the University of Rochester (USA) in 1994. Since then he held different positions at INO as researcher and technology manager in the laser system technology group, at EXFO inc. as Senior Product Manager in the Scientific Division and also at Gap Optique SA (a Swiss subsidiary of EXFO), and as R&D group leader of the reflectometry group.
Back to INO in 2005, Mr. Fougères responsibilities focused on business and technology development. Since March 2008, he acted sequentially as Director - Program management, Vice-President - Operations (2010), Vice-President Business Development and Operations (2013), and since July 2018 as Vice-President Innovation and Technology. His main interests are broadly industrial R&D based on optics and photonics. INO is a technology design and development firm for optic and photonic solutions for SMEs and large corporations. Part of INO’s research activities focusses on the development of printed photonics devices and components which links well with the GreEN Network.
