François Béland

Vice-President of Research & Development, SiliCycle

François Béland

François Béland, now Head of SiliCycle’s R&D Management Division, obtained his Ph.D. in 1999 from Laval University, where he studied silica-based catalysts by different spectroscopic methods. After a postdoc at Montpellier’s ENSCM, he joined SiliCycle, where his current tasks span coordinating research and CMO/CRO activities.

Founded in 1995, SiliCycle specializes in the development of high value silica-based products for analytical and organic chemistry. We aim at offering turnkey solutions to help customers solve synthetics challenges, produce pure molecules in a cleaner way and shorten time-to-market. SiliCycle is also a firm believer in the importance of investing in scientific discovery and people. This what motivated the launch of our accelerator center for businesses growth and mentorship. We are proud to be part of an ecosystem that’s dedicated to innovation in chemistry.

It is from this perspective that SiliCycle is delighted to be part of this Network. Our role & relevance is dual and will focus on theme 1 of the network: Design, Synthesis and Characterization of Carbon-Based Materials. On a more human dimension, skill development of HQP and assist them in achieving their goals will be at the center of SiliCycle’s assignment
